Test Analyst

Your role

Provide a professional test analysis service to change teams and stakeholders as part of change initiatives, communicate and collaborate within the team, drive and own test development, test execution, and defect management end-to-end, to ensure product- and process quality and add business value through the quality aspect.

Contribute to continuous improvement with expert knowledge and can-do attitude and challenge the status quo.

Your responsibilities

  • Support in the refinement of requirements and acceptance criteria and effort estimations
  • Analyse test basis, understand project requirements in collaboration with the stakeholders and feature team members, identify prerequisites, ensure requirement traceability and coverage, create detailed and well-structured test cases based on project requirements to cover various scenarios and use cases, prepare test data ensuring that it covers real-world scenarios and edge cases and describe the expected results
  • Collaborate with the change team and stakeholders to ensure that tests are representative of the expected business outcome
  • Execute tests in accordance with the test plan ensuring that software applications meet the functional and non-functional requirements, gather and provide test evidence, report test progress and risks & issues
  • Follow test framework standards
  • Report defects including clear and reproducible steps, support defect triage, retest fixes and contribute to defect management
  • Develop, execute, maintain, and document regression test suites
  • Contribute to retrospectives and lessons learnt with expert knowledge
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams

You and your experience

Experience and Knowledge
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience, in IT or the related sector (min. 3-5 years)
  • Familiarity with different testing techniques, ISTQB foundation level is a plus
  • Proven experience in functional testing
  • Additional experience in operational acceptance testing, support of non-functional testing, test automation is a plus
  • Strong understanding of software test methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Experience with test management tools and defect tracking systems
  • Experience in different project environments, driven by different methodologies, e.g. Agile, Waterfall
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, Confluence, Jira and relevant test management tools or plug-ins, e.g. Xray
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English
